I had the honour and pleasure to work with both Claudia Verkerk and Jelte Bergman during my tenure at ACN Europe from 2007 – 2015. They were responsible for all European events, conventions, incentive trips and corporate travel. Twice a year, we put on large arena conventions with between 8,000 -13,000 attendees.
They were responsible for finding venues / finalizing venue contracts and primary contact with the venue, coordinating production, entertainment, staffing, onsite retail sales and all logistics to support the convention.
They also secured a host hotels, coordinate room blocks, arrange meetings, food and beverage and finalize hotel BEOs. Next to that, they were also responsible for our annual European and Global incentive trips. This role required finding unique locations (e. g. Monte Carlo, Dubai, Cyprus, Egypt, Hawaii, Cayman Islands, etc.) and partner with the local DMC.
This element of the role entailed establishing the budget, securing the host hotel, arranging a group meeting, coordinating excursions, arranging attendees’ travel, meals and entertainment.
